Personal Chef & Catering Services

My love of cooking for people can definitely be credited to my mom. Some of my best memories are being in the kitchen with her, watching the numerous pots, pans, and dishes being handled deftly--all to produce amazing food for dinner parties, holiday dinners, and our family meals.

I've worked in the food industry since I was 15, from waiting tables to cooking in the kitchen to managing restaurants. But really, it wasn't until I moved to the DC area in 1999 that my love for finer food was born. Leaving the restaurant life behind me, I found myself in a '9-5' job in the marketing field. Part of the job required me to attend what seemed like an endless number of meetings, but meetings at some of the best restaurants in DC! I got to experience, sample, and enjoy foods I hadn't been exposed to before, and learn about cooking techniques I had never heard of. Over the next 6 years, I found myself drooling over menus, and then looking up recipes to try at home. I experimented and failed, then tried again and succeeded. Cooking became an enjoyable hobby.

Then, in 2006, I put my career on hold after having my first child to be a stay-at-home mom. But about a year later a friend, who had started her own personal chef and catering company, was looking for help in her new and growing business, and I was looking to head back into the work force - but only if I could do something I loved. It was a match made in heaven!

After working together for 8 years, I decided to branch out on my own, and Ambrosia was created in 2016. And now, with a family of my own - my very supportive husband Eugene, and my 2 boys, Finn and Lochlan - I understand and value the family meal. It's more than just basic nourishment - it's the time of day we all get to be together, hear about each other's joys and woes, and share food and our love.
